Traffic Schools

COLORADO TRAFFIC SCHOOL ONLINE SPONSOR
The successful completion of a course from one of the approved Colorado traffic schools may prevent violations from damaging your driving record. While in many cases a course just might get a traffic ticket dismissed, attending traffic school can also enhance your driving knowledge and skill level, and it may increase your overall safety awareness so that you, your family, and other drivers can be safer on the roads.

Colorado courts can mandate that drivers with a poor driving record take a driver improvement course, or individuals who want to be the best driver they can be can choose to enroll in a driving course to improve their skills and driving knowledge. The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) does not dismiss tickets or point reductions on your driving record because you take a course. However, some insurance companies will reduce auto insurance rates when you complete an approved traffic school program.

Colorado State Patrol Classes

Alive at 25

This program, in conjunction with the National Safety Council, is geared towards young drivers between the ages 15 and 25. Unlike a driver education class, it focuses exclusively on defensive driving skills.

This four-hour course is offered at various locations throughout the state. The cost is contingent on your situation. If you enroll for insurance reduction purposes or to obtain a driving permit you'll be charged $30. If, however, you've been court ordered or advised by your attorney to attend, tuition vaults to $75.

Before enrolling for insurance reduction reasons be sure to contact your insurance carrier. Not all insurance companies reward enrollment with lower premiums.

Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving (ADoD)

This fancy-named course is open to any person who wants to polish his or her driving skills, and to court-mandated drivers who have soiled their driving records with foolhardy actions.

This eight-hour course touches on everything you need to know to become a Grade-A defensive driver. Identifying unsafe driving situations, making smart choices, and understanding all of the factors that create risk are all emphasized.

Classes are offered year-round throughout the state. Cost:$150.

Some insurance carriers may reward attendance with reduced insurance premiums. Check with your agent.
